Message from Iwade Farmers Market

With the February Farmers Market and its 1st anniversary coming up on Sunday 7th February (Iwade Village Hall 10am to 1pm) click on read more to hear what Sash Carrington-Dawkins who initiated the Iwade Farmers Market, has to say.

"The first Sunday of February marks the one year anniversary of the Iwade Farmers Market. In that year, the market has raised £1100 for the Iwade Village Hall. This non-profit making venture was started, continues to be and is funded by volunteers for the benefit of the community.

The market is varied every month, some bigger than others and some more successful. Through the doors we have seen many supporters from Iwade locals through to Kent County Councillers, Parish Councillers and shoppers who have travelled from further afield than Kent.

Summer months have seen much fresh produce embellishing the gardens where as the colder months have seen more crafts and preserves in a more intimate atmosphere, within the Village Hall.

Kids have had their faces painted, decorated their own cakes and played games involving the market stall holders. Congratulations to Olivia of Cormorant Road, Kyron of Fisher Close and Bridie of School Lane won the "Spot The Animals" competition, all courtesy and a big thanks to Barbara who comes along every month with her cakes and preserves and has been instrumental in helping the organisers of the Farmers Market.

Many thanks to all the stall holders and patrons also, who have supported the Farmers Market even through a difficult few months. We would like to welcome Robert who joins the team in 2010 and we encourage shoppers to come and see what the Market offers in this upcoming year. The next Farmers Market will be held on Sunday 7th February 2010 from 10am to 1pm and every first Sunday of the month thereafter. We are still looking for volunteers to assist with the running of the Farmers Market, so If you would like to help out please contact events@iwadevillagehall.co.uk or 07989 55 44 69"
