Medway Model Flying Club
A remote-controlled flying club based in Iwade although it's name suggests otherwise! The Flying Club's current charity of choice is Kent Air Ambulance. They had a very busy 2006, and raised £1006. They regularly hold barbeques and put on a flying display at Port Lympne Zoo and Country Park's adventure weekend. They also had an excellent November 5th fly-in, BBQ and firework display at their Stickfast Lane site. Lots of people attended and a raffle of prizes donated by Dixons, Weston UK and various club members helped to raise monies for the Air Ambulance. Membership is again almost full for adults. Junior members are always welcome to join but must be accompanied by a parent at all times. For more information or any advice on radio-controlled aircraft, cars or boats contact Phil Fearn at pfiwade@blueyonder.co.uk.

Millen Water Fly Fishery
A syndicate fishery which is an agricultural reservoir the syndicate rents from the landowner. Members stock and manage the fishery which is for Fly Fishing only. The water is private with no access for day tickets however members can invite guests. The fish are predominantly Rainbow Trout with a small number of Brown Trout, Blue Trout and Tiger Trout. There is also a resident population of Rudd which probably arrived as spawn on waterfowl legs. Aside of the fishing the water is a haven for wildlife. There is a large population of frogs, the occasional grass snake and rarely adders. Rabbits and foxes are frequently seen, plus the wild fowl ducks of various breeds, coots, Moorhens, great crested and little grebes and a large selection of land dwelling birds. Insect life is prolific from gnats to dragonflies, which is good for the fishing. It is a place where you can see many a happy fisher person rod in hand playing with their flies!!! There is a high ratio of staff to children and the staff have a good working relationship with the children, parents and professionals. Signalong is used at all times which the children love to learn and pick up very quickly. Most of the staff have high experience with special/additional needs children and they can also refer to professionals if required. Sessions are currently Monday mornings, Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday mornings, Thursday mornings and afternoons or all day and Friday mornings.
Children are taken from 2 years to school age and children are not required to be potty trained to attend, Tinkerbells will happily potty train along with the parents. Tinkerbells are qualified for Nursery vouchers so children aged 3 years and over can access these.
