Hillreed Commence Archaeological Investigation
Thank you to Hillreed Homes Project Manager Chris Cooper who has kindly updated us on the work they are undertaking in the fields next to School Lane recreation ground.

According to Hillreed, they have commenced an archaeological investigation on this new development.

"The work involves excavating a number of trenches a la ‘Time Team’ and investigating the archaeology. This work is being carried out by professional archaeologists under the supervision of the ESCC Archaeology Department from County Hall and under a planning condition as part of the original approval for the development granted by Swale Borough Council.

The work will take approximately four weeks. All trenches will be filled in as we complete the works.

This work is in preparation for the commencement of the development which we anticipate will take place in the new year."
