Communities across Kent are being invited to start planning street parties for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this summer at www.kent.gov.uk/streetparty, once again waiving charges for street parties on quiet residential roads with a very easy application process for road closures in quiet roads and cul-de-sacs.

Mike Whiting, KCC member for Iwade/Swale Central said,

"I hope that local residents and groups get right behind the jubilee and organise street parties to celebrate The Queen's 60 years of service. Wouldn't it be great if the Sittingbourne area was to have the greatest number of street parties of any town in the county?"

Come on Iwade, take to the streets for the Diamond Jubilee with one big party!

Visit www.kent.gov.uk/streetparty to find out more or telephone 08458 247 800.
